question
First of all, the 26 performed flawlessly. I was very impressed with its performance and it was so comfortable to shoot. It ran through its first 100 rounds of Winchester White box without a single FTF. I couldn’t be happier. Then I decided to test it with some Remington ammo. Remington never performed well for me in either my FNP9 or 92FS, usually resulting in a stove pipe ~once every mag.
Sure enough, the 26 failed to eject the first three rounds. What is it with Remington ammo? Is this common among shooters here?
Answers
The great, (older gentleman), who taught me how to reload said he has never liked Remington ammo. He’s 81, but mostly uses rifle rounds, so not really relative to your situation.
It has been years since I used a 9mm, but don’t remember any problems with Remington ammo when I did. My main carry now is a G3 23 and I reload my own ammo now exclusively.
Rob is extremely knowledgeable, as are many others here, so hopefully, they can get it figured out for you.
Again, welcome. Don’t hesitate to ask questions as the only dumb question is the one not asked. Good luck.
Just bought 500 rounds of 45 acp Remington ammo from the gunshow last week
Hopes it shoots good…
Cannot ever remember using Remington ammo in any of my guns.
Hope I did not make a mistake buying it..
will definitely try the plunk test before using it..
bought my Glock 26 gen 4 about 3 months ago and have shot approx 1200 rounds or more. ALL have been Remington 115 grain FMJ. I haven’t had a single issue with this ammo at all. I have used Glock mags and Magpul mags, no issues. Hope this helps.
