tried soom clear plastic ones in 12 gauge years ago. I think they were Pachmyer? You could see the spring and inner workings.
They didn’t last long. The plastic was too brittle and the rims cracked in short order
That was at least 20 years ago. Now days they use high-tech polymers instead of plastic! Might work more better?
I like the Tiptons. They have a spring loaded brass “primer”, a brass base and extractor groove and a plastic nose. It’s a durable design. Mine are .45 ACP.
The Armsport 12 gauge snap-caps have a spring loaded brass primer, but the rest of them is made from a brittle plastic that cracks. Mine haven’t fallen apart yet, but others have.
I have some no-name all plastic ones in 20 gauge. The “primer” is hammered to the point that I don’t think they’re doing any good.
A-Zoom Snap Caps
When I pull the slide back it looks like the entire snap cap is fitted into the barrel minus the lip that stops from going all the way in. This results in the gun trying to load another round on top of the round stuck in the barrel which jams the slide back. Is this also normal or do I have to manually take out each round?
Hi all. I purchased some nifty full metal snap caps (bullet shaped and spring loaded pieces of metal that allow one to practice dry-firing without hurting the gun or firing pin) but am having a small problem with my handgun not extracting them when I pull the slide back to load another round. Is this normal?
