Henry Model X, when it comes to firearms, there are few that could truly be considered a piece of Americana quite like a lever action rifle. While most people may envision blued steel and walnut stocks, Henry takes a great deal of pride in keeping up with the demands of modern hunters while not losing sight of its long heritage. The Lever Action X Model line borrows that Americana spirit from one of the most legendary hunting platforms of all time and lovingly poured it into a feature-packed rifle for today’s whitetail woodsman.
Tough synthetic furniture provides a lightweight and worry-free alternative to the typical hardwood and accommodates in-line sling swivel studs, a Picatinny rail, and M-Lok accessory slots on the forestock. The solid rubber recoil pad ensures that the buttstock won’t slip and slide around to keep shots consistent. The blued steel barrel is topped off with bright fiber optic sights for quick target acquisition, and the receiver is drilled and tapped to accept a variety of optics for those who prefer some magnification. For those who wish to run a suppressor or other muzzle device, the barrel is finished with 5/8×24 threading and a removable thread protector.

Purchased the Henry X Model in 30/30 Winchester before deer season and I am very pleased with the accuracy and performance of this rifle. Topped it with a Leupold Firedot 3x9x40 scope. Tried a variety of ammo with this rifle. Federal 150 and 170 grain bullets gave me 3-4 inch groups at 100 yards. Hornady Leverevolution 160 grain bullets grouped around 1 1/2 inches. Hornady American Whitetail 150 grain Interlocks was the clear winner, with a 7/8 inch clover leaf group. The combination of having a side gate and tube loading makes it a snap to load, or top off. At the end of the day or when crossing/climbing fences, etc., pouring out the rounds instead of cycling them thru the action is makes it very convenient and safe. The action is smooth, with no failure to feed or eject rounds.
